Where will the event be held?
32 Cabo Verde in Santa Maria on the Island of Sal, Cape Verde is a unique space that has been the host to several national and international events, from cultural theme nights to international film festivals.
The owners of this special venue are a wonderful group of people who have the search for 'spiritual consciousness' as a way of life, so they are perfectly suited as our hosts for the retreat.
They will be providing us with nutritious sustenance for the event with vegetarian food served for lunch every day, fresh juices, desserts and snacks all made with special local ingredients, to keep us refreshed throughout.
The island of Sal is almost exclusively dedicated to tourism and owes its name to the industry that thrived here between the eighteenth and mid-seventh centuries. A land of wonderful white sandy beaches, warm and transparent waters and coral reefs, the island offers unique conditions for water sports, from surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing to diving, fishing and swimming.
Despite its volcanic origin, the island is flat, resembling the lunar surface and has a warm tropical dry climate, which allows tourists to enjoy the paradisiac beaches or the famous salt flats for 365 days a year. It is the main tourist point of Cape Verde, being responsible for more than 50% of the overnight stays of the whole archipelago.
Visits to the bay of Murdeira, Rabo de Junco, Bay of Joaquim Petinha, Buracona, Ponta Preta, as well as the Grotto of Love, among others, are obligatory for those who visit this island, plus there'll be hiking expeditions on the days around the retreat and I'm sure Jack will be on them (as he LOVES to hike!).
The cost is £595 for the 4 days
Including lunches and all refreshments at the venue. This price also includes access to the footage of the entire event.
Flight costs from the UK are between £250-£350 return and hotels in Santa Maria are around £300 upwards for a one week stay (all accommodation there is of a good standard). Flights from the US are considerably more at around $1,500 return. You will need to organise your own flights, transfers and accommodation for the retreat, plus breakfast and evening meals.
There are limited numbers of 15 spaces for this retreat. You will also be sent a copy of Jack's book in advance once you have completed your payment.

Frequently asked questions:
Q. Where do I stay?
A. There are many hotels and resorts and bed & breakfasts in Santa Maria to accommodate all types of budgets. If you´re into all the comforts of a really nice hotel take a look at Hotel Morabeza, the first hotel on Sal, or Hotel Odjo d´Agua which is right on the water. As many of the accommodations are privately owned (and rented out directly by their owners), we recommend you to check Airbnb.com. If you’re travelling on a tight budget please check out 32 Cabo Verde's friends at Sakaroule Bed & Breakfast or find a rental apartment at the local Sal 4 Rent office.
Q. What do I need to consider when visiting Sal?
A. If this is your first visit to Cape Verde, make sure your passport expiry date is more than 6 months from now. For those travelling from outside Europe, make sure to check out this website for details on adapters for your electrical devices:
http://www.power-plugs-sockets.com/en-se/cape-verde/ All visitors require a 40 Euros visa (paid at the airport upon arrival). The Euro is the accepted currency so there is no need for exchange of currencies of any kind if you’re coming from Europe (not the UK).
Q. Which airlines fly to Sal, Cape Verde?
A. TUI and Thomas Cook Airlines operate the UK's only direct flights. Both airlines serve Sal's Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID), while TUI also flies into Boa Vista's Aristides Pereira Airport (BVC).

Q. What kind of 'stuff' do I need to bring with me?
A. We recommend you travel light! Traveling to Santa Maria is like travelling to any holiday destination in the sun like Spain, Portugal and North Africa. When packing, remember that you’re travelling to spend time in a place where the temperature is around 25 degrees centigrade or 77 degrees Fahrenheit all year round.
During the winter holiday season, it’s usually quite windy (hence the reason why kitesurfing and windsurfing are so popular), so make sure you bring a hoodie or a warm sweater for those windy moments and colder evenings.
The 32 Cabo Verde venue is in the heart of Santa Maria, a short walking distance to everything you’ll ever need and just 100m from the main sandy beach with crystal clear water. You can find most things you need for beach life in and around the event venue itself.
